Ultraviolence’s opening track “Mirror” unnverves with the sound of bats screeching in caves, with bare drums and coldwave guitars ripped straight from Joy Division’s songbook. “Into a Bolder” follows with anti-melodic vocals interlaced with creepy-crawly guitars. In short, don’t expect any major keys on this record. If you want it darker, listen to Ultraviolence.
